What a pretty, sunshiney Tuesday it has been!  It's brisk out, but nice.  It was a super chilly 38 degrees this morning when I woke up but has warmed up to 54 degrees. This is probably the high for today.  brrr!  But then again, I guess this IS March, and much, much warmer than most of the country!

This is the time of year when Panama City Beach has lots of fun events planned.   Please follow us on Facebook for weekly events, as well as the "Upcoming Events" tab on our website.  I'll blog about them as well!

So March started off with the Mardi Gras parade at Pier Park.  There was a fantastic turn out!  Unfortunately I couldn't  enjoy the parade, but I was in Pier Park that afternoon and saw tons of people there waiting for the festivities. I've realized that Pier Park is a GREAT place to people watch.  (Just a side thought there.)

The Panama City Beach Scottish Festival will be setting up in Frank Brown Park Saturday, March 9th, beginning at 9 AM. There is something for everyone at this event - vendors, a tea room, a beer room, games and more! Musical acts range from bagpipe bands to traditional folk music to Celtic rock bands. So, put on your kilt and come out to the Festival to dance a jig or two.

The following weekend there are two events.  I'm sure there are more, when you think about live music at restaurants and happenings around the beach. The Emerald Coast Boat & Lifestyle Show will be at Aaron Bessant Park March 15-17th.  ...this is so much more than just a boat show! Fishing, Fitness, Boating, Cycling, Kayaking, Outdoors, Paddleboarding and So More!  Buy tickets here > http://www.emeraldcoastboatshow.com/tickets.cfm

This same weekend, there is an Art event at WaterColor Inn & Resort. This will run March 16-17 starting at 9 AM each day. Let's hope for pretty weather, as this will be held outdoors as an open air festival. There will be food and drinks available, as well as live music!  Sounds fun!

The weekend of March 22-23rd is one of my favorite events of all time...."UNwineD" This two day event features craft beer, spirits and wine from around the world, plus culinary creations by Northwest Florida’s leading chefs, as well as live music. It kicks off Friday night with "Top Chef" finalist Kevin Gillespie, custom cocktail creations by mixologist Mercedes O'Brien, food, live music and more.  UNwineD officially gets underway Saturday with The Grand Afternoon Tasting. Stroll around Aaron Bessant Park tasting the best craft beers, wine and spirits from around the world.  There will also be tasty creations prepared by some of the best chefs in the area. Cheers!

Spring is a fantastic time of year here at the beach.  While you're out enjoying the sunshine and fun things our area has to offer, be sure to stop and smell the flowers! :)
