Camp Helen State Park
The Friends of Camp Helen State Park and Camp Helen Park staff, invite the whole family to the fifth annual Movies & More series, for an evening filled with movies, food & fun. The event starts at 5:30 pm and will begin with an interpretative program, followed by a campfire cookout, including hotdogs, s’mores and drinks, and will end with a movie sure to be enjoyed by all. The event will be held at the parks Recreation Hall, where seating will be provided.
July 25th “Fern Gully-the last rainforest” (rated G) – A Camp Helen Park Ranger will facilitate an educational activity and interpretive program on the Florida Black Bear.
Summer Concert Series:
Hot summer nights are made for music, and the Summer Concert Series has become a beloved summertime tradition in PCB. Enjoy a FREE concert in the park every Thursday at Aaron Bessant Park Amphitheater — bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the sounds of summer music; coolers, food and pets are welcome.

Kayak Eco Tours - Paddling A Coastal Dune Lake @ Camp Helen State Park
Join Camp Helen State Park Staff for a leisurely 90-minute paddle on Lake Powell, one of the world's largest Coastal Dune Lakes. Learn about the history, natural communities and wildlife that make this Outstanding Florida Water so unique and important. This guided kayak tour will be enjoyable for individuals, families and groups. All levels of experience are welcome. Space is limited. Advanced reservations are required.

South Walton Craft Beer and Spirits Festival
The inaugural event will be August 3, 2018 from 12-4PM at Shades Restaurant. They will have cooled tents for the outdoor event, with tables that include more than 60 craft beers, ciders, Florida distilled craft spirits, and rosé wine and mimosas. Beer and spirit experts will be on-site sharing their knowledge with you! We will have food samplings provided by Shades Bar and Grill and the sister restaurants Pescado and Southside Slice.

Camp Helen State Park invites you to go beyond your park visit, and discover the past and present, on a ranger guided walking tour where you can learn about the rich history of Camp Helen’s Historic District. Led by informative and entertaining rangers, you will discover and connect with the history that literally surrounds Camp Helen State Park, a Nationally Registered Historic Place.
Tours begin promptly at 10:00 am, so please meet in the Visitor Center and be sure to bring water and wear comfortable walking attire. Tours take place in the outdoors and may be subject to cancellation due to inclement weather conditions.

Come and join the Department of Environmental Protection and Camp Helen State Park for a moonlight paddle on Lake Powell, Florida’s largest coastal dune lake. The experience will be a mostly quiet excursion led by Rangers and will give visitors a unique opportunity to view one of the rarest lakes in the world, while under a nearly full moon. The trip is approximately 2 hours and will begin with a brief safety review and interpretation on Lake Powell and why coastal dune lakes are such a rare natural phenomenon. Participants must be experienced paddlers and 12 years of age or older.
Program is weather dependent. Please check the forecast prior to arrival. If there is a chance of inclement weather on program day, call the Park for further information. As with all water sports, there is a chance of getting wet so dress appropriately. Please help us keep the trip on schedule by being on time and bring everything that you need with you to the Visitor Center.
